Panel to probe sale of training helicopters by NCAT by Buhari administration

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Assets has announced its intention to investigate the sale of two training helicopters by the Nigeria College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.

The helicopters, acquired for N1.2 billion, were sold under the pretext of underutilization, despite the Nigerian Navy's need for similar aircraft for operations.

The committee suspects a trend of asset stripping in various sectors of the economy during the last administration's twilight.

They aim to ensure due process was followed and prevent any potential hidden agendas.

The investigation was initiated by Chairman Ademorin Kuye (APC, Lagos), and it involves 133 other committees constituted by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
